Where it all happens….

Literary Publicist Krista Rolfzen Soukup touring the Gale Family Library

Let me introduce myself, I am Krista Rolfzen Soukup, Candace Simar’s publicist and agent. I have promoted  and represented Candace and her writing since 2009 and love every minute of it.  Her book, Abercrombie Trail, was the book that inspired me to create Blue Cottage Agency.

As much as I enjoy the Abercrombie Trail series and historical fiction, I really have no interest in researching, writing or sitting in a research library all day.  Who could spend that amount of time  in a library day after day, hour after hour, reading, digging, hunting? Really?  I couldn’t, but I’m glad others are inspired to be there.

Knowing that the stories in Candace’s books are real, with fictional characters, I really wanted to see where it all happens.  I was curious to see where Candace has spent countless hours researching her writing.  The Gale Family Library located at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul is the hub of all information, the keeper of the informational treasures of our state.  I didn’t dig into any files, and I have to say my favorite item was the Great Gatsby poster,2013-12-06 14.20.28 but I did leave with even greater appreciation for Candace and other  literary artists.

Thank you to those who spend their time and talents doing all the hard work to create books that make learning history effortless, entertaining and enjoyable.

      1. I love poking around libraries and finding out about early central Minnesotans. I also love Candice’s books. Keep me posted on any writing classes around Central MN occurring during the summer and early fall. I’ve half finished a second book and I need inspiration. Living in Florida half the year makes me forget cold and the hardships the early pioneers suffered. Patty Johnson, Ripe Chokecherry Moon
