Isn’t this a great idea? The Grand Rapids Friends of the Library in collaboration with the Loon Country Quilters created this beautiful 3ft X 5ft wall hanging. The signatures of 20 Minnesota authors are embroidered on the spines of the different books. I was thrilled to be included with Mary Casanova, John Coy, Nancy Carlson, Monica Ferris, Brian Freeman, Pete Hautman, Lynne Jonell, William Kent Krueger, Winona LaDuke, Lorna Landvik, David LaRochelle, Mary Logue, Alison McGhee, Margi Preus, Joyce Sidman, Anton Treuer, David Treuer, Will Weaver and Mike Wohnoutka.
The Friends of the Library are selling $5 raffle tickets for their Gala Tea on September 13, 2016. They hope to raise money to repaint and repair the Library Community Room. If you are in the Grand Rapids area, please stop by the library and purchase a ticket. You might win this beautiful and unique wall hanging that celebrates Minnesota authors.
