It is always more stressful for me to speak to kids than adults. I felt anxiety about speaking to the 5th and 6th graders at St. Francis School yesterday. It all turned out well. The students were respectful and interested in learning about the research process needed for writing historical fiction. I had a great time and hope that the kids learned something about the writing process. Remind me not to worry the next time I speak to school kids.

I’m the opposite. I come alive when speaking to kids. They are so ready with questions and compliments. Their creativity fills me up, and yes, exhausts me, too.
