Thank you to Colleen Moser’s book club for choosing Shelterbelts for their July selection. Lucky for me, I was invited to attend their meeting yesterday. Colleen made egg coffee (like Tia made at the Farmer’s Union Hall), fancy boxed lunches (like the Tolga Township women prepared for the Valentine’s Day Box Social) and led a wonderful discussion about the book. The setting at her Upper Whitefish cabin was perfect, along with the Minnesota weather. What a great day. It was fun to hear their impressions and comments. They especially connected with Norman’s story, and his post traumatic stress after WW2. I’m glad they liked it!

What a creative way to engage the book club members connecting to the storyline. Any chance there were slices of cake packed in the box lunches?
