I have read Abercrombie Trail, and just finished Pomme De Terre, both were hard-to-put-down reads. These books reveal the difficulty of the imigrant pioneer’s life, womens’ lives, and the Indians’ lives during this time. It is fasinating to read how they all coped with these various hardships of weather, wildlife, friendship and conflict, birth and death. I especially liked the treatment you gave the Indians, revealing their hard life and unfair treatment during that time, and how they coped.
And now a question about your map; why is Dayton shown as north of Alexandria, when it is actually south of St. Cloud (perhaps you changed it in the third book)?
I am now going the read the next in your series. Excellent writing!
Dear Jerry, thank you for reading my books and taking the time to comment. Dayton was a name also given to early Fergus Falls, actually Dayton Bluffs. Later on, it was only Fergus Falls. Thanks for asking. I”m glad you enjoyed the Abercrombie Trail Series.
I enjoyed speaking with you in St. Cloud as much as I enjoyed Abercrombie Trails. I can hardly wait to read some of your new works. Patty Johnson.
Thanks Patty. I wish you success with your writing, too.
