Spiritual Writing Retreat In Lanesboro MN

Are you interested in a writing retreat?  I will be moderating a weekend retreat at Anna V’s B&B in beautiful Lanesboro, MN, the B&B capital of MN.  It will be held the second weekend of April, beginning at 7pm on April 10 and wrapping up at noon on April 12.  The title is “Writing from the Spirit” and will focus on communicating spiritual truths in non-traditional ways.

The retreat is appropriate for writers of all stages and interests.  We will have time for writing, thinking, praying, as well as learning more about the writing process.  There will be great fellowship and good food.

If you’ve tried writing something very personal in nature, you know that it is harder than it looks.  We will investigate ways to dig deeper, write with fresh language and convey those deepest yearnings of the human heart.  All you need is a notebook, favorite pen and laptop (optional).  Contact me at simar@tds.net for more information, or comment on this post with your contact information, and I will get back to you.

I think it will be a great weekend.  Hope to see you there.

I was out-of-town when you visited Little Falls Carnegie Library last Fall. My daughter, Jeanine, purchased the Abercrombie Trail Series as well as Swelterbelts. I have completed reading all of them and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have always enjoyed historical novels but yours are so personal, it feels as though each character is a part of my life. I hated to finish and say good-bye. I too have immigration stories in my families’ history and sincerely wish I could put pen to paper as well as you did. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for having such great talent.

Dear Candace, Are you planning on having another spiritual retreat? if so, I would enjoy coming. I live in the St. Paul area, but have a cabin in the Aitkin MN area. I would drive just about anywhere, though (within reason), to go to one and also meet you. Blessings, Bonnie Connolly

p.s. I have read the first four of your books and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have never read much about the 1862 Sioux Uprising. Now, I can’t seem to get enough on the subject. Looking forward to reading your other books.
